Ordering & shipping
When do you open?
October 8, 2026. That's when the Founding Collection goes live.
Where do you ship?
All 48 contiguous US states. We don't yet ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or internationally — we'd rather do a short list properly than a long list badly.
What does shipping cost?
Free on orders over $100. Under that, a flat rate shown at checkout before you pay.
How quickly do you ship?
Orders placed before 6:00 PM Eastern on a business day ship the next business day. After 6:00 PM, or on a weekend or holiday, they ship the following business day. You'll get tracking by email as soon as the label is made.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If the label hasn't been made, yes — email us quickly and we'll catch it. Once it's with the carrier we can't redirect it.
Returns
What's your return policy?
30 days from delivery, unworn and with tags. Return shipping is on you, unless we made the mistake — then it's on us. Full detail on our Shipping & Returns page.
What if it arrives damaged or wrong?
Tell us within 14 days and send a photo. We cover return shipping and either replace it or refund you in full, your choice. No argument.
Products
Is it really made where you say it is?
Yes. We name the maker and the place on every product we carry, and if it says Irish, it came from Ireland. That rule doesn't bend. Where a piece is woven in Wales or stitched in Somerset, we say so plainly rather than letting "Celtic" do the work.
How do I know what size to order?
See our Size Guide for how to measure, and check the measurements listed on each product page. If you're between sizes or unsure, email us — we'd rather spend five minutes now than process a return later.
How should I care for wool?
Air it rather than wash it. Spot-clean cold, dry flat, and store folded with cedar rather than plastic. Wool is a working fibre and improves with a bit of use.
The coins
Are the coins real?
Yes. Genuine Irish coins from the 1928 series and the years that followed — a wolfhound on the sixpence, a horse on the half-crown. These circulated in Irish pockets for decades and carry the marks to prove it.
Are the coins damaged to make the jewellery?
Never. Every coin is bezel-set and removable — not cut, not drilled, not soldered, not polished into forgetting where it's been. The coin outranks the jewellery, and always will.
Can I request a particular year?
Sometimes. Availability depends on what we've sourced. Email us before ordering and we'll tell you honestly what's in hand.
About us
Who are you?
A husband and wife in Lewis Center, Ohio, with a wolfhound-sized shadow underfoot. She chooses what goes on the shelves; he packs the boxes. Read the longer version on Our Story.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
Not yet. We're online only for now.
How do I reach you?
Email sales@thehoundandhorse.com. We answer within one business day.
